Mr. John G. Baker, 70, of Crothersville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his home.
He was born on April 27, 1943, in Seymour, IN, the son of Robert A. and Bonnie J. (Eisele) Baker.
On April 17, 1970, in Seymour, IN, he married Lura M. Jones.
John was a 1961 graduate of Crothersville High School. He was a member of The Crothersville Nazarene church where he served on the church board, was a part time Sunday school teacher and a church bus driver for Seymour First Church of the Nazarene for several years. John retired from Reliance Electric where he worked for over 40 years. He enjoyed antiquing and going to auctions and flea markets.
John had a great love for the Lord and his family.
He is survived by his wife; children: Angie (Edward) Pyle, Melissa (Steve) Gordon, Robert Jason (Rosie) Baker, Lisa Baker; grandchildren: Justin Pyle, Andrea (Alex) Salvo, Joshua Self, Jason Self, Brittney (Josh) Grimes, Tiffani Mitchell, and Jessica Mitchell; 6 great grandchildren; Brothers: Robert “Bob” Baker, Rudy Baker, Steve Baker, and Terry Baker Sr.; and sister: Patsy Fluharty.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Roberta Stringer.
Funeral service will be held at Voss Chapel on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Mark Wooten officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.
Family and friends may call at Voss Chapel on Friday March 7, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 12:30 until the time of service.
