Joseph C. Caviness

August 12, 1951 - August 9, 2014

Mr. Joseph C. “Jody” Caviness 62, of Seymour passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Columbus, IN.
He was born in Louisville, Ky., on August 12, 1951, the son of the late Lawrence Poore and Edith Keeling Caviness Poore.
Jody was an antique dealer for many years. He was a member of the Indiana Auctioneer Assoc., Indiana State Trappers Assoc. and Fur Traders of America. He enjoyed being out doors and was an avid trapper.
He married Vicky Droege on October 24, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, aunt Louise Kinder and uncle Weston Morefield.
Preceded in death by his step father and mother.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 12 at Voss Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. David Schrock officiating
Friends may call on Tuesday after 12 noon until time of service.
Burial will follow at Riverview.
Family asks that memorials be given to Hospice of Schneck Medical Center or Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center.

We will miss you Jody. I am grateful that we got to be neighbors for the last 5 years. Thanks for always being so very nice to us. You will be dearly missed........

Jody brought so much joy to so many people. My first memory of Jody was Christmas at our house. I can honestly say that many of my gag gifts were made with Jody in mind because I knew he loved them so much. Christmas will never be the same without him. Jody was one of the "good guys." I pray that he is resting in peace, free of cancer, and in God's embrace. I will miss you, Jody.
