Judy Collette

Judy Collette of Lafayette, Indiana, formerly of Seymour Indiana, passed away October 27, 2016, at her home. Before moving to Lafayette, Judy had retired from Seymour to Lakeland, Florida.

Judy was born April 29, 1948, in Monticello, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Willie and Nancy (Kidd) Phillips; her parents passed away when she was young.

Judy was raised in Tampico by her maternal uncle and aunt, Louis and Angie Kidd, both of whom preceded her in death.

On April 28, 1967, Judy married John Collette in the Tampico Baptist Church.

Judy was a member of the Legacy Christian Church in Lakeland, Florida. While living in Florida, Judy was a volunteer in her retirement community. She enjoyed playing cards.

She is survived by her husband, John, daughter, Christy Collette, grandchildren: Hannah Byrd, McKenzie Flynn, Morgan Flynn and Donovan Flynn; great-grandchildren: Keylie and Elizabeth Byrd; son, Troy and wife Scarlyte Collette, grandchildren: Amber, Jackson, Allie Marie and Brynlyn Collette; brothers, Homer (Delorse) Phillips and Ozie (Mary Sue) Phillips; sisters, Alta Wilson and Lucille (Dave) Bond; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Bowden Collette, brothers, Carlis, Eugene and Vinton, Jr. Phillips; and sisters: Dora Moore, Gertie Sherrill and Lyda Griffin.

Funeral service will be in the Voss Chapel on Monday October 31, 2016, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dan Eggold officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery.

Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday October 30, 2016, and from noon until time of service on Monday.
