Lawrence W. Barlow, 92 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away at 1:23 am on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at his home.
He was born July 28, 1923, in Lawrenceport, Indiana, the son of the late Wayne T. and Edith (Reynolds) Barlow.
He married Leora J. Johnson on November 5, 1955, in Seymour, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on March 1, 2000.
Mr. Barlow was a member of First Baptist Church in Seymour. He served in the US Army during WWII in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes Rhineland and Central Europe as a Technician Fifth Grade, Company C, 735th Tank Battalion from 1943 to 1945. He retired as a Federal Employee, Supply Field. He worked as a Security Guard at Schneck Medical Center from December 6, 1976, until his retirement on April 29, 2004. He was a member of Agoga Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, D.A.V. National Lodge and active in the Democratic Party.
He is survived by his children, Gail Bowling, Nathan Barlow and Jan Barlow; granddaughter, Aimee (Jamie) Bowling Caudill, and three great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Breanne and Gabriel Caudill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Robert Barlow and sisters, Dorothy Helen Hubbard and Roberta Barlow.
Funeral service will be held at Voss Chapel on Monday, June 27, 2016, at 10:00 am with Rev. Larry Tingle officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm and Monday after 9 until time of service.
Memorial checks may be written to First Baptist Church, the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
