Linda Kay (Rumph) Rust, age 75, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Schneck Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 5, 1949, in Jackson County, Linda was the daughter of Irvin and Leona (Fish) Rumph. She married Dennis L. Rust on January 10, 1970, at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Borchers, and they spent 54 years of marriage together creating memories with their children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis; a son, Greg (Janet) Rust; two daughters, Debbie (Chris) Herbert and Heidi (Kevin) Wheatley; five grandchildren, Jay, Elsie and Becca Herbert, and Grant and Caleb Wheatley; and one brother, Larry Rumph, all of Seymour. Other survivors include brothers-in-law Delbert (Debbie) Rust, Wayne (Anna) Rust, Allan (Ann) Rust; a sister-in-law, Shirley (Larry) Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jerry Rumph and David Rumph; and two sisters-in-law, Linda (Foist) Rumph and Patty Rust.
Linda was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Borchers, where she enjoyed writing letters for the Care Team, sewing baptism napkins, making LWR quilts and assembling LWR baby care kits. Most of all, she dearly loved her family, and she treasured frequent visits from her children and grandchildren. She made the best coconut cream pie and red velvet cake.
Funeral services for Linda will be held Monday, March 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Borchers, 10792 N County Rd 210 E, Seymour. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 24, from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. at Voss and Sons, 316 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour. Visitation will also be at the church Monday, March 25, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, with burial immediately following. Services will be officiated by Pastor Stephen Wood.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church – Borchers or to the donor’s choice.
