Linda Lou Gilbert, 69, entered heaven on March 27, 2024. She was born on January 21, 1955, in Seymour, Indiana, to the late Everett and Inez (Richardson) Franklin. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Stephen Gilbert Sr, for 21 years.

Due to her love and kindness Linda will be missed by all the lives she touched. Her greatest passion was her children and grandchildren. She loved watching Indiana Men’s Basketball and The Food Network.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Stephanie (Jim) Doolan of Seymour and Steve (Cassi Smith) Gilbert, Jr from Westport; grandchildren, Travis Thompson and Jerica Gould; great grandson, Owen Thompson; siblings, Carol Franklin from Seymour, Joyce Schurman from Seymour, Phillip (Diana) Franklin from Columbus, and Brenda Simpson from Seymour; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Williams; and brothers, William Everett McKim and Michael Everett Franklin.

Services have been entrusted to Voss & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, Seymour. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Linda at a later date.

I’m missing you real bad Aunt Linda. You will always be in my heart. I love you. Brian

Aunt Linda, this all seems like a very bad dream and we’re all going to wake up and you’ll be sitting there watching CNN or The Food Network. Brandon, Jake , myself and so many others are missing you right now, and we’ll always miss you, the tears we have right now will soon be replaced of the smile’s that we’ll always cherish of you, forever, but know, you have, and will again, have brought us so much joy and happiness to our faces and great and joyful memories to us that we will never forget you; EVER. You were like a second mom to me and I’ll never forget you nor the advice that you gave me so many times. I feel like a piece of me is missing, but I know you’re in a much better place, healthy, happy and smiling down on us, watching over your kids and grandkids and reunited with your mommy and daddy, your sister Barbara Ann, brother Billy and brother Mike catching up with them and sharing a few stories and lots of laughs. I’ll always miss you and please know you will always hold a very special place in my heart! Forever loved and very deeply missed, but grateful for the time I had with you. Your nephew, Brian. 🙏

Mom, where do I begin ?? I miss you dearly.. The days have not been easy … You are my rock, my backbone, my queen, my EVERYTHING.. I’ll always love and cherish our memories and our special moments… You have done so much for so many people in your life .. You always made sure that everyone was taken care of first … Steph and myself are just so proud of you and proud to call you mom.. You’re no longer in pain or struggling with your health … Me and Cassi miss you and miss our little talks each week on her days off.. I love you and that’ll never stop or change.. Praying for peace for my niece Stephanie and my nephew, Steve and the rest of the family. I have such wonderful memories of her being married to my brother Steve as a little girl I was able to spend a lot of time with them and the kids. I have always loved her dearly. May she rest in peace she will never be forgotten.
