Madelyn Kiser, 88, of Seymour passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Seymour Crossing in Seymour, IN.  She was born on June 26, 1935, in Chestnut Ridge, IN the daughter of Jim and Della (Alexander) Jaynes.  On March 31, 1978, she married Frank Kiser in Medora, IN and he survives.

Madelyn is survived by her four children, Sherida Bush, Paul (Lisa) Brock, Roger (Martha) Brock and Sonja (Kenny) Everage; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren.  Madelyn is also survived by a stepdaughter, Wanda Bobb; and a stepson, Jeffrey Kiser as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Louise Pearson, and Joyce Clampit; one brother, Donald Jaynes; and one stepdaughter, Mary Jane Baute.

Madelyn worked as a certified nursing assistant for Seymour Crossing, Lutheran Community Home, and Shields House for many years until she retired.  She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, cooking, and fishing in her free time.  Most of all Madelyn enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services for Madelyn will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery with Daniel Philips officiating.  There is no visitation, but friends are invited to the graveside services at 1 p.m. at the cemetery.

Memorial contributions in memory of Madelyn may be made to the Riley Children’s Hospital.
