Marcille E. Rotert Borcherding, 91, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away July 23, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.
She was born November 23, 1924, in Jackson County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Ben and Mabel (Kiel) Burbrink.
She married Thurman Rotert on May 14, 1944, in Jonesville, Indiana, who preceded her in death. She then married Arvel J. Borcherding on August 21, 1976, in Waymansville, Indiana, who also preceded her in death.
Marcille graduated from Shields High School in Seymour. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Waymansville and also a member of the St. Peter Ladies Aid and the Jonesville Bells. She loved to sew, crochet and make quilts and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Roger (Donna) Rotert, her daughter, Connie (Robert) Stiles, four stepchildren: David (Susan Pickens) Borcherding, Max Borcherding, Jane (Joe Fritzgerald) Thomas and Douglas (Jennifer) Borcherding; two grandchildren: Kristi (Bill) Elkins and Todd (Jamie) McKinney; four great-grandchildren: Brittani (T. R.) Montgomery, Bethani Elkins, Brianna Elkins and Claire McKinney; three great-great-grandchildren: Cole Benton, Zoie Benton and Lauren Pryor; eight step-grandchildren: Sam, Will and Mollie Borcherding, Dave (Tricia) Borcherding, Jennifer (Jon) Matchett, Eric (Gretchen) Borcherding, Dale Dewar and Becky (Larry) Jones; and several step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her sister, Betty Jean Bobb, and two brothers: Floyd Burbrink and Leonard Dean Burbrink.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Waymansville, with Rev. John Beabout officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, and again Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church from 9:00 am until time of service.
Memorial checks may be written to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Waymansville for the building fund or The American Stroke Foundation.
