Marilyn L. Ahlbrand (82) beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on June 15, 2014 surrounded by her loving husband of 60 years and both her daughters.
Marilyn was born on October 14, 1931 to Margaret and William Weber who preceded her in death, as did her brother, Bill Weber and her son, Mark Willam Ahlbrand.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Roland (Bud) Ahlbrand, and her two daughters Linda (Dave) Keller of Greenwood Village, CO and Lisa (Dave) Twadell of Ft. Myers, FL. Seven grandchildren survive, Erik and Allison Ahlbrand, Margaret, Kathryn and Bertwin Keller, Alex and Sara Twadell. She will also dearly be missed by her many new, and longstanding friends.
Marilyn was born in Camden, NJ and lived there before moving with her family to Indiana. She attended Indiana University in Bloomington and graduated with BS and RN degrees. She was a pediatric nurse at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
She lived most of her life in Ft. Wayne, IN where they were members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Epiphany and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed working as a Red Cross volunteer nurse and as a Hospice volunteer. She and her husband moved permanently to Florida in 2002, where they were members of Faith Lutheran Church. She was active with the Women of Faith and in the church choir.
Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Naples, FL, Saturday. Calling will begin at 10 am with a service to follow at 11 am.
Graveside services will be in Seymour, IN at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery on Tuesday, June 24th at 9:30 am with Rev. Philip Bloch officiating.
Any donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Naples or to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Indianapolis, where they were married on June 19, 1954.
