Marilyn Y. Riordan Carter, 80 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016, at Lutheran Community Home.
She was born May 25, 1935, in Seymour, Indiana, the daughter of the late Robert and Reneua (Baldwin) Riordan.
Marilyn was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour. She retired as Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Seymour after 12 years. Mrs. Carter was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children: Mary Carter, Jan Carter, Travis Robert “Bob” Carter, John (Karen) Carter, and Carol (Mike) Hill; stepchildren: James and Thomas Carter; grandchildren: Christy (Cory) LeBlanc, Craig (Laura) Carter, Andrea (Matt) Evans, Vincent Carter, Lewis Carter, and Rachael Hill; seven great-grandchildren, two brothers: Steve (Kathy) Riordan and Kevin (Tammy) Riordan; a sister, Jane Combs, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Jack Hill, two great-granddaughters: Addison Rae and Kennedy Leann LeBlanc; and a brother, Dennis “D.R.” Riordan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at St. Ambrose Catholic Church Friday after 12:00 p.m. until time of service. A Rosary Service will be conducted at Voss Chapel Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
