Mr. Marvin Boknecht, 97 of Seymour, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at home with his family by his side.
He was born in Jackson County on September 14, 1918, the son of the late Edward and Bertha (Burns) Boknecht.
He was a member of Whites Chapel Church.
Marvin was a veteran of World War II as he served in the Infantry. During his tour in the service, he was active from the Atu Island to Okinawa, Japan. After the war, he started working for Excello Shirt Factory where he retired and farming.
He married Helen Hoding who precedes him in death.
He is survived by his sons Milton (Diana) Boknecht and Michael Boknecht, grandchildren: Daniel Boknecht and Aaron (Maudie) Boknecht, great grandchildren: Ethan, Nate, Dillion, Desire, Diedra, Darian and Josh, great great grandchildren: Taden, Carson and Riley, sister: Mary Boknecht.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at Voss Chapel with Rev. Thomas Judd officiating.
Family and friends may call at Voss Chapel on Tuesday, November, 17th, from 3 to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday after 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Whites Chapel Cemetery. A Flag presentation will be provided by the V.F.W. Honor Guard.
