Michael “Mike” L. Otte

Mr. Michael “Mike” Loren Otte, 56, of New Whiteland, IN, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in Bartholomew County.

Michael was born in Mount Carmel, IL, on November 28, 1957, the son of Leonard and Marilyn (Borcherding) Otte.

On July 2, 1988 in Oil City, PA, he married Ellie Mae James whom survives.

Mike graduated Seymour High School in 1976. He was a manager at PetSense Inc. of Seymour. Mike loved his pets. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Otte is survived by his children: Michael (Jaime) Reed, and William (Kate) Reed; grandchildren: Kyle ,Charlotte and Lily; sisters: Susan (Shannon) Allman, Kim (Stan) Dunn; step-brothers: Jerry Hageman and Thomas Hageman; step-sister: Lori (Jeff) Stuckwisch; step-mother Mildred Otte; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Saturday March 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mitch Phillips officiating.

Family and friends may call at Voss Chapel on Friday March 14, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and on Saturday after 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Memorials may be written to American Cancer Society.
