Ross A. Maschino, age 84, of Seymour, passed away at Hoosier Christian Village on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Ross was born on September 12, 1939, in Seymour, IN to the late John J. Maschino and Lillie Elizabeth Hohnstreiter Maschino. He was a 1957 graduate of Shields High School where he participated in football, basketball, swimming, track and cross country. On October 14, 1960, he married the love of his life, Dixie M. Tidd Maschino, who survives. He worked for over 40 years at Thompson Dairy and 53 years at Vick’s Liquor Store. His love of sports continued throughout his life as he played softball and basketball. Ross loved to hunt especially with his favorite coon dog, Roskey. He enjoyed yearly fishing trips to Canada with his family. He loved a good cup pf black coffee and working in the garden with his granddaughters. He loved passing his basketball skills down to his grandchildren. His hard work ethic set an example for the whole family. Nothing made him prouder than watching his grandchildren grow.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dixie Maschino; his children, Tammy Trueblood of Seymour, Ross Maschino II of Virginia Beach, VA and Randy L. Maschino (Mary) of Columbus; four grandchildren, Samantha Maschino, Dylan Maschino, Delaney Maschino and Elizabeth Trueblood; and great-grandson, Julian Maschino.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joey Maschino, Raymond Maschino, Avis Maschino and Orville Maschino; sisters, Wanda Goble, Roberta Hunter and Bonnie Whitson; and son-in-law, Joshua Trueblood.
A memorial service will be held at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 11AM until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery.
