Nita Kaye Mousa

April 7, 1956 - June 24, 2014

Mrs. Nita K. Mousa, 58, of Seymour, went to her heavenly home Tuesday June 24, 2014 at Schneck Medical Center.

Mrs. Mousa was born on April 7, 1956 in Seymour, IN, the daughter of Charles “Gale” and Carole (Carmichael) Rucker.

On February 15, 1980, in Seymour, IN, she married Kenneth W. Mousa who survives.

Nita graduated from Seymour High School in 1974. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church where she was involved in the youth program and a member of the Praise team. She served as director for the Youth Leadership Jackson County (YoJACK). Nita was a hairdresser and owner of Coiffure Studio Beauty Shop.

She is survived by her husband; children: Bambi (Chris) Cardinal, Seth M. Mousa, and Leah M. Mousa; grandchildren: Blake and Luke Cardinal; father in-law: Kenneth Mousa; sisters: Rita (Jeff) McNeely, Peggy Rucker, and Karen (Tom) Bates; brother and sister in-laws: Phyllis (Tom) Kleber, Judy Mousa, and Bill Mousa; nieces: Brianne (Lee) Duvall, Charla (Rusty) Bickel; Hallie and Josie Bates, and nephews: Jordan (Jennifer) McNeely, Josh (Nicki) Kleber, Jeremy Kleber, Cameron Mousa, and Chaise (Lacey) Mousa; great nephews: Hunter, Nolan and Graham McNeely, Aiden and Kayden Mousa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and mother in law: Geneva Mousa.

A celebration of life service will be at Cornerstone Community Church on Sunday June 29, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Johnny Spivey and Rev. David Ison officiating and a Voss Dove release following the service.

Family and friends may call at Voss Chapel on Friday June 27, 2014 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM

Prayers of comfort and strength for the entire Nita Mousa family. Nita never met a stranger and blessed everyone she came in contact with. Jesus was her very best friend. I know she's singing and dancing with Jesus now. Prayers to Ken, Bambi, Seth, Leah, and the grandchildren during this difficult time.

She was someone who displayed Christ in everything she did. She showed so much kindness to people, and gave of her talents unselfishly. I will never go to Disney again without thinking about her, and how much fun we had. Thanks to her family for sharing her with us. Prayers for Ken, Bambi, Seth, and Leah. They were her joy.

I was so sad today when I heard the news that Nita went home - so happy for her but sad for those she left behind. Nita gave her all to everyone never holding back her love. What an encourager to life itself. I will miss her deeply but my life is richer for having shared it with her. My heart and prayers go out to the family and Aunt Sharon who will be lost without her. as my sister , Lori, said Mom ( Dot Berkey) really thought a lot of Nita. We all did. She was so sweet & kind to us all. She sang like an angel . Nita you will be missed. Prayers for all your family.

We are so sorry to hear of Nita's passing.I talked to Nita at Dr. Lotticks office in Greenwood and she looked so beautiful. I am so sorry to hear of Nita's passing! She was such a sweet lady and loved her job! I was able to have the pleasure of Nita doing my perms in my hair the last one was in 2006 an haven't been able toget back for another one, but she was te only one I trusted doing my hair as it was down to my calves and very predacious to me! Nita was always caring of that and made sure she was gentle with my hair! That alone was an inspiration! But I know she was apart of many other things and was great at all of them and will truly be missed! Praying for the family!

My husband and I have known Nita since our teens; we had some wonderful times with her, Rita, Peggy, Karen and the whole family. I especially enjoyed spending time with Nita's family as a young girl. I have many wonderful memories of those times. We moved away from Seymour 30 years ago, and lost contact, but whenever we would return to Seymour, we sometimes ran into Nita and it felt like running into family, like no time had passed since last seeing her. She always had a smile on her face and a big hug for us. Our prayers are with her family; she was a wonderful person and lived life to the fullest every day. She will be missed by all who knew her.
