Jesus was the love of her life
Norma Jean Champ, 74 of Seymour, Indiana, formerly of Putnam County, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015, at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Norma was born October 19, 1940, the daughter of the late Fred and Hazel Pelfrey Thompson.
Norma was a member of Cornerstone Community Church and served as Church Treasurer. She was a graduate of the 1958 Class of Bainbridge High School. She was the owner of Champ Bookkeeping and recently retired as the bookkeeper of the Pregnancy Care Center of South Central Indiana. Norma was a member of AGLOW International and served on the Southern Indiana Area Team. Jesus was the love of her life. She loved to travel and had the opportunity to fulfill her greatest passion by traveling to Israel on five different occasions.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Champ, Marc Champ, and Christi (Gregory) Champ Baine; two grandchildren, Daniel and Luke Champ; her brother, Richard “Dick” Thompson, her sisters, Ethel Hammond, Shirley Sue Baker, and Judy Parent; several nieces and nephews, the father of her children, Terry Champ, and their grandfather, George Champ.
Norma is preceded by her parents, a son, Shannon “Shane” Champ, and a brother, Donald Thompson.
Funeral service will be Friday, July 10, 2015, at 12:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 1088 Sarasota Drive, Seymour, Indiana, with Rev. Johnnie Spivey officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at Cornerstone Community Church, Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Friday after 10 a.m. until time of service.
