Norma M. Burrell, 86 of Seymour, IN passed away Friday evening, June 30, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 2, 1936, in Jeffersonville, IN the daughter of the late Luther and Beulah (Burke) Henderson Sr. On October 22, 1955, Norma married the love of her life, Jerry R. Burrell, and he survives. They celebrated 67 years of wedded bliss and created a beautiful union and family.
In addition to her husband Jerry, Norma is survived by her three children, Vickie Lynn Engelking (companion Perry) of North Vernon, Jerry “Pete” Burrell of Crothersville, and Mike (Lisa) Burrell of Medora; five grandchildren, Michael (Chelsea) Burrell II of Tampico, Kristen (Zach) Sutton of Columbus, Misti (Timm) Wieneke of Clearwater, FL, Kristi (Timothy) Brock of St. George, UT, and Mindi (Aaron) Delph of Seymour; and Seventeen Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Charles T. (Cheryl) Henderson, David Henderson and James Henderson; and three sisters, Barbara Durham, Shirley Shingleton, and Dovie Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, three brothers and two granddaughters, Amanda Burrell and Jennifer Burrell; and two great granddaughters, Paisley and Presley Burrell.
Norma was a devoted and active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Seymour. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, friends and for church events. The best of days for her were being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her deep and caring hospitality for her family will leave much to miss and even more to celebrate.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Voss & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Angel Armstrong officiating. The family will meet friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
