Patty Jane (Benter) Surenkamp, 74, of Seymour passed away on the morning of January 12, 2024, at Hoosier Christian Village. Patty was born on December 1, 1949, in Seymour, IN to Lawrence and Martha (Stuckwish) Benter. She was a graduate of Brownstown High School and had worked for Rightway Fasteners prior to her retirement. Patty was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Sauers. In addition to her love for her church, Patty dearly loved and enjoyed spending time with the many generations of nieces and nephews.

Patty is survived by her husband, John Surenkamp; siblings: Marilyn Stuckwisch, Betty (Leslie) Tormoehlen, Glenn (Carolyn) Benter; brother-in-law, Paul Darlage; brother-in-law, Gregg Surenkamp; sister-in-law, Janis Surenkamp; many nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Wilma Benter, sister, Melba Darlage, and brother-in-law, Leland Stuckwisch.

Funeral services for Patty will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church Sauers, 1058 South 460 East, Seymour. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of the service Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
