Pauline M. Isaacs, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
Pauline was born July 24, 1940, in Medora, Indiana, to the late Howard and Nellie (Watts) Dixon, Sr. In April 1986, she married Bobby Isaacs, and together until his passing in 2005, they raised a family that would become Pauline’s number one priority.
Known for her perseverance and toughness, Pauline was known as the glue that held her family together. She encouraged hard work to reach your goals and always provided the support needed to reach them. An avid gardener, she taught the younger generation how to grow and can vegetables. She enjoyed holiday crafts and will be remembered for making masks for everyone during the pandemic. But her specialty was baking for the family. She always baked homemade fudge and chocolate-covered peanut butter balls during the holidays and special occasions. In fact, relatives would come from far away for her homemade fudge. Among her other pastimes, she loved music and was an accomplished pianist. And she loved to eat ice cream! She never turned down a good ice cream sundae.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Jack Guffey and Pamela (James) Leach; grandchildren, Tonya (Diana) Dupraw, Justin Morris, Danielle Guffey, Michaela (Zachary) Schlatterer, and James Robert Leach; great grandchildren, Kenzie, Avery, Hueman, and Hannah; and brother-in-law, Clifford Guffey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, listed above; husband, Bobby Isaacs; brother, Howard Dixon Jr.; sisters, Dixie Lane, Barbara Brewer, Maralan Underwood, and Jane Guffey.
Funeral services for Pauline will be held on Monday, March 4, at 11:30 a.m. at Voss & Sons Funeral Service, 316 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour. Pastor Stephen Wood of St. Paul Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday, March 4, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest immediately following at Scaffold Lick Baptist Church Cemetery, 5208 E. Polk Road, Lexington, Indiana.
