Nellie immigrated to the United States with Arnold, Peter, and Luke in 1960 and eventually settled in Seymour, where they lived for many years at 601 Sixth Street. She was employed at Seymour Manufacturing for thirty-plus years, as was Arnold, and after retiring in 2002 she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandkids and friends. She relished travel to such places as Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia (Bali), and Israel (Jerusalem). She and Arnold often visited Maastricht, the Netherlands, to see friends and family, especially their nephew Louie, his wife Marrion, and their son Maaik.
The family of Nellie Godding wishes to thank the incomparable staff at Covered Bridge Health Campus, SouthernCare Hospice, Schneck Medical Center, St. Ambrose Catholic Church, and all the friends and acquaintances who visited and cared for her during her time at Covered Bridge.
