Ralph Steven Von Hoene

Steve “Von” Von Hoene, 56 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016, at his home in Seymour.

He was born February 15, 1960, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of Ralph and Barbara Jean (Newkirk) Von Hoene.

He married Christa Maria Blevins on June 14, 2007 in Brownstown, Indiana, and she survives.

Steve was baptized at The Tabernacle. He was co-owner of Von’s Pawn Shop in Columbus. He enjoyed auctions, antiques and Harley Davidsons. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Steve is survived by his wife, daughters, Cheyenne Von Hoene, April (Cody) Wolka and Ashley Von Hoene; grandchildren, Makenna, Cayden, Ahlois and Waylon; his brother, Randy (Teresa) Von Hoene and his sister, Peg (Dave) Mellenbruch.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Voss Chapel on Friday, July 15, 2016, at 6:00 pm with Rev. Aaron Arrowood officiating.

Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Friday after 3:00 pm until time of service.

Memorial checks may be written to the donor’s charity of choice.

Arrangements were made through Voss & Sons Funeral Service and Crematory, Seymour, Indiana.

Condolences to the Von Hoene family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, "heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds." May God bring you comfort and peace.

Just met Steve a few days ago at his shop. We chatted a bit and he impressed me as a very nice and decent person. I'm so sorry for his passing.

To April and Ashley (and Dawn and grandchildren), I know you will miss Steve more than words can say and I'm sorry for your loss. May your Lord bless you and comfort you in your time of sorrow.

We both know that we cared and loved each other very much. I am still in disbelief and so sad what you had to go through on such a life that you had to live. You are in a better place with no hassles, threats, or harassment. May you be at peace now brother. I am going to miss our heart to heart talks, visits, joking, teasing, and just all around fun with each other. Your niece and nephews are really going to miss you also. You will always be in my heart Steve. I LOVE YOU!!!

I will miss you my Friend...It saddens me beyond belief to here won't be there when i stop through Columbus....To Steve's family..My heart breaks for you in your moment of loss...Steve had such a big heart...I personally watched him try to balance his compassion for others in need and his responsibility to run his business..I watched him shed real tears for people he just was unable to help.....that was his constant struggle...his personal cross to bare..there will be so many that depended on him that will miss his kindness......I know there is a peaceful place for him in heaven.....I hope to see him there someday....God Bless

Ashley, To you and your family... we were so sorry to hear about your dad. I know your heart is breaking right now for your dad and for your children who will greatly miss their grandpa. We are thinking of you now and in the several days to come. Just know you are in the prayers of a lot of people. It will mean more to you than you realize. I lost my dad when he was only 53 and we had 2 babies. The kind words and actions of others, some you have never met nor even know will get you through all this heartache. Steve, I miss you more than words can express. As I read some of the comments below, I am saddened. I can only pray these folks get real, especially Don, aka the business partner. They can have the karma and heartache that came along with building our business. I can also only pray had the roles been,reversed, no one bad treated you, my husband and our precious Cheyenne the way myself and Cheyenne were treated as we mourned the loss of you. You promised till death we would part, unfortunately that was way too sudden. I loved you then, love you now, and always will love you. We will meet again in heaven. Sending hugs and kisses till we meet again.
