Reva Van Hook Turner, 69, of Columbus, IN passed away on Friday morning, March 24, 2023, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana in Columbus. She was born on January 1, 1954, in Cincinnati, OH the daughter of Dalmas “Del” and Garnet Ruth Wells Van Hook. On August 2, 1980 she married Dan Turner in Cincinnati and he survives.
In addition to her husband of 42 years Dan, Reva is survived by two daughters, Angie Turner (significant other Jonathan Turpin of Rockwood, TN), and Colleen Turner (Seth) Beville of North Vernon, IN; one granddaughter, Charlotte “Charlie” Beville; one sister, Lisa Miller and one brother Del (Tammy) Van Hook. In addition to her children, grandchildren and siblings Reva is survived by her in-laws, Mary Turner Darlene Turner, Theresa and Rick Locke, Ron and Shelly Turner, Lisa and Todd Miller all of Cincinnati, OH, and Teresa and Dan Postlevaite of Martinsville, IN; her childhood friend Debie Halsey and many nieces and nephews.
Reva was preceded in death by her parents Dalmas and Garnet Van Hook and her mother in law, Eleanor Baker.
Throughout Reva’s life she enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking, and tending to her flowers until her health made it to where she was unable to do so. She was employed for seventeen years with the Bartholomew County School Corporation where she worked as a teacher assistant until her retirement in 2017. Most of all Reva enjoyed spending time with her family friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Voss and Son’s Funeral Service in Seymour at 3 p.m. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the services at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
