Mr. Richard E. Tate, Jr., 51 of Seymour passed away at St. Mary-Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky on March, 16, 2015.
He was born in Kokomo, Indiana on December 28, 1963, the son of Richard E. Tate and Barbara Bruno Lucas.
Richard graduated from Seymour High School in 1982 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Seymour, Sons of the American Legion, Hoosier Beemers Club.
He had a great love for his wife Julia D. Kreite, whom he married February 24, 1990 in the First United Methodist Church.
Richard was employed with the Seymour Truck Sales as a Mechanic Truck Wrecker operator for 10 years. His passion was to ride motorcycles as one would say he ate, drank and slept motorcycling.
He is survived by his wife; Julia, mother; Barbara, father; Richard; brothers; Robert S. and Michael S. Lucas, Jim Tate, sister Julie Tate, maternal grandfather; Robert (Jeannie) Bruno, maternal grandmother; Naomi Horseman, paternal grandfather; Karl Tate, mother and father-in-law; Joyce and Vernon Prange, brother and sister- in-laws; Roger (Phyllis) Kriete, Dwight (Karla) Eddy, Jeffrey(Melody) Kriete, Teresa (Kevin) Dukes,several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law; Carl Kriete, Jr., grandfather; Donald C. Horseman and grandmother; Dorothy Tate.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, 201 E. 3rd St., Seymour, with Rev. Sandy Cooper and Rev. Steve Cherry, officiating.
Family and friends may call at Voss Funeral Home, 316 N. Chestnut St, Seymour, on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday after 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Family asks that memorial donation be designated to the church or charity of Choice.
