Mr. Richard “Rick” A. Trimpe, 69, of Seymour, passed away Thursday July 10, 2014 at Schneck Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Born August 24, 1944 in Seymour, IN, he was the son of Virgil and Ruth Alberta (Sweazey) Trimpe.
On December 27, 1966 in Seymour, IN he married Linda L. Gill.
Rick attended and graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and Seymour Senior High School Class of 1962. Rick proudly served his country in the US Army from 1965 – 1967. He retired in 1996 as toolmaker from Cummins after 32 years. Rick was member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. His special talent was working with his hands. Rick was always tinkering in his garage and the family handyman who could fix anything.
Rick is survived by his wife Linda, daughters: Teresa (Bob) Koch, Jennifer (John) Regruth, and Laura (Mark) Handloser; and grandchildren: Trey and Evan Koch, Carson and Casey Regruth, and Grant, Braden, J.C. and Drew Handloser; brothers: Fred (Cindy) Trimpe and David Joe (Billie) Trimpe; Sisters: Nancy (Don) Engle and Susan Trimpe; Aunt Marilyn Olmstead; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Monday July 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ralph Blomenburg and Rev. Philip Bloch officiating.
Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Sunday June 13, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM or on Monday after 1:00 PM until the time of service.
