Rick L. Keefer, 65, of Seymour, IN passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at his home.  He was born on July 18, 1958, in La Rochelle, France the son of the late Oliver Lyle and Barbara Ann (Rose) Keefer.  He married the love of his life since 1977, Charlotte Lewis on August 1, 1987, in Louisville, KY and together they built a beautiful family.

Rick was quite a prankster in his younger days and never backed down from a good water fight.  He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.  He was a man of few words, but his silence spoke volumes.  Rick was previously employed with the city of Seymour for the street department and retired due to health reasons.

Rick’s greatest joy in life was his family, he is survived by his loving wife and best friend for the last forty-six years Charlotte (Lewis) Keefer; daughter, Mandy (Aaron) Royalty; son, Dustin (Alesha) Keefer; grandchildren, Caylee Jo Ledbetter, Destyn Lea Dawn Keefer and River Lyle Keefer.  He is also survived by his sisters, Cindy Fisher and twin sister Karen (Dan) Wheeler; Brothers, Mike Keefer, Kenneth Keefer and Craig (Natalie) Keefer; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sandra Sue Keefer.

Funeral services for Rick will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Voss and Sons Funeral Home in Seymour.  The family will meet friends from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in memory of Rick may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society.
