Robert “Bob” Baldwin, 91 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015, in Darien, Georgia, surrounded by his loving family and caregivers.
He was born December 16, 1923, the son of the late Price and Gladys Fox Baldwin.
He married Glenna Bowman in Jackson County, and she passed away in 1976. He then married Ruth Reichenba who preceded him in 2011.
Robert was a member of Reddington Christian Church since 1936. He served in the US Army during WWII from July 3, 1944 to October 8, 1946, where he received two Purple Hearts. He worked at Texas Eastern for 37 years in Maintenance and Operations and farmed in his spare time. Robert enjoyed being part of the Reddington Community. He was a member of the American Legion, and on October 18, 2014, he was privileged to take the Indy Honor Flight.
He is survived by his two daughters, Dona (Jim) Rice and Jean Tinnin; two grandchildren, Jon (Casey) Wright and Jenny (David) Brown; and one great-grandson, Zachary Brown.
He is preceded in death by both of his wives, his parents, and his sister, Emmylou Bowman.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Voss Chapel with Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Reddington Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
