Melanie Nelson left a message on November 30, 2022:
I was Ron's only niece so by default I was his favorite niece. I made sure to remind him of this frequently, always signing my e-mails and Christmas cards - Love, Your Favorite Niece, Melanie. Additionally, on days I just felt like chatting or asking questions about family, I would call him up and when he answered the phone I always said "Hi Ron! It's me." He would always reply "Me? Who's me? I don't know anyone named me" before telling me he was just giving me a hard time, one of his favorite past times.

I’m deeply saddened by the passing of Ron. He was a great guy. He would stay and visit when he brought Sue in to have her nails done and would always have a joke or a story to tell. He took such good care of her … I ounce complimented him on that and he happily told me it was no more than she’d do for him. It made me dig deep into myself. Heaven has gained for sure!

I pray God gives you all peace and strength. I've known the core family my whole life. We went different directions and I didn't see them like I wanted to but I hold Ronnie and the rest in my heart. Uncle Clint only got mad at me once. Aunt Lyle made the best cookies and cherry cheese cake. Ricky always said I had a boney bottom. Ronnie gave me two dolls on a stand dressed in Korean dresses I still have them. The family were all good to me and loved me as their own. I loved them all also. I was 6 weeks old when we met. Mike, you came over to my house and hung out with my brother steve. I would also include Jean Wimer Dickerson, I hope I got that name right. She sang to me when going back to school after lunch. Anyone know where she is please tell her I miss her. God bless you all. Cindy Gardner Brian

Ron was such a good friend to us at Silver Sneakers. He was a good cook and shared candy and pie with me. He will be missed so much but I am thankful he is not suffering and he is with his beloved wife Sue.
