Ronald “Ron” Brown, 77, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away December 18, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center.
He was born February 6, 1938, in Sparksville, Indiana, the son of the late Cecil and Jean (Starr) Brown, both of whom preceded him in death.
On July 8, 1960 he married Shirley L. Durbin who survives.
Ron was a U.S. Navy veteran and was an active member in the USS Columbus Veteran Association. He was a member of Washington Lodge #13, York Rite, Scottish Rite and the Murat Temple in Indianapolis. He was also a member of the Seymour Christian Church. He worked in the plastics industry for 42 years before retiring. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife.
He is survived by a son, Mark (Shonnie) Brown and a daughter, Paula Jo Brown, four grandchildren, Shianne, Travis, Allen (A.J.), and Tanner. He is also survived by one bother, Stephen (Sue) Brown.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Voss Chapel with Rev. Bill Lockman officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday, December 22 and Wednesday, December 23 from 12:00 pm until time of service. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7:30 pm at Voss Chapel on December 22, 2015.
