Ronald Stanley Dunbar, 83 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away November 18, 2015, at Seymour Crossing.
He was born April 9, 1932, in New London, New Hampshire, the son of the late Joshua and Mildred Barton Dunbar.
He married Janet Willey on August 21, 1992, at Seymour Christian Church, and she survives.
He was a member of Cortland Christian Church. He worked at Sylvania in Hillsboro, New Hampshire, then transferred to Seymour in 1978 where he retired after 30 years with the company. He was an avid gun collector. He enjoyed forging with his friend Ray Sease. He was a member of the Elks, the VFW, American Legion, and Fraternal Order of the Moose over the years. He was a police officer in Hillsboro, New Hampshire, in his early years and was also a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Grantham, New Hampshire.
He is survived by his wife, his children, Becky Mooney, Ginny (Larry Doyle) Bishop, Matt (Wendy) Dunbar, and Andy Dunbar; stepson, Brad (Amy) Thompson, step daughters, Ruelle (Dwight) Jarest and Karla (Henry) Summers; sister, Joey Holmes, grandchildren, Caley (Jae) Dunbar, Tim Dunbar, Erik (Rebecca) Arnold, Jeff (Nancy) Dutton, Jermaine (Amber) Dutton, Karen (Eric) Pomasko, Amanda Harding, Gail Jarest, Trevor, Abby, Nicole, Hannah, and Zachary Thompson; niece, Cindy (Cliff) Dyer, and nephew, Mark Holmes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Taylor Jade Dunbar, and a brother-in-law, Alfred Holmes.
Memorial service will be conducted by the caring staff at Voss Funeral Service at 2:30 on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Cortland Christian Church with Rev. Clifton Burton officiating. After Memorial Service, there will be a gathering in the church Fellowship Hall with refreshments provided by the church family.
