Sandra Adkins

October 15, 1942 - July 7, 2015

Sandy F. Adkins, 72, of Seymour passed away on July 7, 2015, at home surrounded by her family.

Sandy was born on October 15, 1942 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to M. Esther Bell Gottfried and the late William Gottfried.

Sandy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She worked and retired as a teacher’s aide. Sandy loved to sing. She recorded two CD’s. She also loved to read and do word searches. Sandy would never miss a good garage sale. She even stopped to shop on the day that she got married! Sandy will always be remembered as a happy lady who loved to laugh. Her family said that she never met a stranger.

Sandy is survived by her children, David Wayne Bryan, Jon Carl Bryan (May Martinez) and Katrina Faye Jones (Charles); three grandchildren, Michael Bryan, Tea Bryan and Gavin Bryan; 2 great grandchildren; brother Bill Gottfried (Donna) and three sisters, Shirley Wolka (Stanley), Schella Smith and Connie S. Gottfried.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, and her father.

The funeral services will be at Voss Chapel Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Phillip Bloch, Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, and Rev. James Rodriguez officiating.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

The family asks that memorial checks be designated to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Dearest Sandy, I consider you one of my closest and dearest friends always. You have been an angel on earth all these years you have been with family and loved ones. I know you are now at peace with your beloved Larry. I wasn't able to contact you as I misplaced your number but prayers were sent your way. Your lovely Christmas cards were always the first to arrive at the start of the season and placed at the top of my display. Sandy, you are beautiful inside and out.
