Mrs. Sigrid K. Deaton, 56 of Brownstown, formerly of Nashville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with her family by her side.
She was born in Columbus, Indiana on February 22, 1960, the daughter of the late Selby Bowles and Gerlinde (Spachtholz) (Jim) Farmer.
On June 18, 2015, she married Tony Deaton in Brownstown.
Sigrid was a member of the Brownstown Church of Christ. She worked for the Brown County State Park for many years. She loved people and was a great caretaker as she took wonderful care of her parents and husband, Rick Stroh. Some of her hobbies included painting, collecting gnomes and bird’s nests, going to garage sales and watching old black and white movies.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, Tony, two children: Julie (Ashley) McKim and Josh (Rachel) Jackson; step-children: Jessica (Lee) Gerken, Melissa (Larry) Jones, Pamela Niewedde, Brandy Stroh and Robert Stroh; grandchildren: Jacob Graham, Emily, Garrett and Joshua McKim, and Chloe, Shelby and Nora Jackson; step-grandchildren: Laura-Lei Caplinger, Brady, Bryce and Keara Riley, and Aly and Ava Cornett; niece and nephew, Adrienne and Derek Bowles, brother, Gary (Kim) Bowles and sister, Pam (Terry) Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, husband, step-grandchild, Colleen and step-son-in-law, Dave Niewedde.
Funeral service will be at Voss Chapel on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Hogg officiating. Burial will follow at Kurtz Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at Voss chapel on Wednesday after 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
