Sonia Lee Eldridge

October 25, 1932 - July 10, 2014

Mrs. Sonia Lee (Steward) Eldridge, entered into eternity on Thursday July 10, 2014 at her home in Columbus, In.

She was born on October 25, 1932 in Jackson County, to William J. Steward and Florence (Weihe) Steward.

Sonia was preceded in death by her parents, brother Billy G. Steward, and Grandson Chad Eldridge.

She is survived by her former husband Roy T. Eldridge, children: Terry W. Eldridge and M. Suzette (Eldridge) West, four grandchildren: Ginger, Shane, Brett and Lance. She leaves behind many friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

Sonia Eldridge was an active member of Westside Community Church in Columbus. She graduated from Shields High School, class of 1951, and retired from Schneck Memorial Hospital where she worked in the Emergency Department. She had a passion for art, music, family and friends. Sonia enjoyed traveling, shopping, and doing things for others.

At her request Mrs. Eldridge will have a closed casket.

Funeral Services will be held at Voss Chapel on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Dennis Aud officiating.

Visitation will be held at Voss Chapel on Monday July 14, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM or after 12:00 noon on Tuesday until the time of service.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be written to the Westside Community Church, Premier Hospice or Schneck Foundation.

It was through my father, Dr. John Linson, that I first met Sonia. They worked together at Schneck Memorial, and were "runnin buddies" for so many years after. It was then that I encountered her sweet spirit, and saw the grace that filled her life. She will be truly missed, for now. Until we see her again. Robert Linson

I will always remember her smile, her laughter and she was always ready with a hug. Sonia was never anything but kind and generous to both me and my family. Even though she only knew my kids through the stories my dad would tell her, she was always so sweet and remembered them with a card and a note on each of their birthdays. She will be missed.
