Steven Micheal Staggs

Steven Micheal Staggs, 66 of Medora, Indiana, passed away March 14, 2016.

He was born February 1, 1950, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of the late James Howard and Flossie (Spurgeon) Staggs.

He married Kathy Burke on October 18th, 2012, in Brownstown, Indiana, and she survives.

He graduated from Jennings County High School in 1968. He was a very hard worker and was employed at Golden Foundry, Rose Acre Farms, and Kobelco where he retired in 2009. He was a 28 year member of ABATE of Indiana. He enjoyed traveling, motorcycle riding, hunting, and spending time outdoors and with his family.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Michele Staggs, Christy Staggs, and Stephanie (Glen) Sawyer; grandchildren, Keshia Deppe, Abby Surface, Kelsie McIntosh, Kaylee Heath, Shelby Warner, Corbin Baker, Catey Staggs, Carly Baker, Brady Sawyer, Anna Reynolds, Ashley Bohall, and Alissa Sawyer; nine great-grandchildren, four sisters, Alberta (Ralph) Barlow, Cloris (Bob) Hook, Carolyn (Ronnie) Hudson, and Marilyn (Jarold) Rush; two brothers, Ronnie (Judy) Staggs and Terry Staggs; several nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law, Mary and Marcella Staggs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Karen Micheal Staggs, two sisters, Doris Noel and Betty (Gene) Acton; and four brothers, Harold, Billy, Paul and Morris Staggs.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Voss Chapel. Burial will follow at a later date.

Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Friday from 4 to 8 pm and Saturday after 12:00 pm until time of service.
