Susan Jane Schrader

July 13, 1948 - January 22, 2016

Susan Jane Schrader ” Mo”, 67, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Friday January 22, 2016 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Susan was born on July 13, 1948 in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorotha (Stilabower) Wertz. Susan married Micheal Schrader on December 22, 1973 in Edinburgh, Indiana.

She received her BA from Murray State University, and her Masters from IU. Susan worked for Centerstone as a Case Manager. She loved her family and especially spending time cooking, making noodles and doing crafts with her grandchildren. Susan was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Susan is survived by her husband of 42 years, Micheal Schrader; two sons, Branch (Amanda) Schrader and Grant (Jennifer Penner) Schrader, five grandchildren, Mia, Grace, Maely, Lane and Madison; and her brother, Richard (Becky) Wertz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Laura Mae.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday January 26, 2016 at Voss Chapel and again on Wednesday January 27, 2016 from 9:00 am until time of service.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday January 27, 2016 at Voss Chapel, with burial to follow at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. Susan will be missed by many. She was a wonderful woman to work with; she had such a loving and giving heart not only for her family but for the individuals that she worked with. I only knew Susan for a short time but enjoyed the time that I got to work with her. May God warm the family in love and comfort.

My thoughts and prayers are with Susan's family & friends. I only worked with her for a short time but when i met her, I felt like I'd known her for years. She was such a nice woman & will be so greatly missed.

Dear Mike, Branch and Grant, Susan was a special friend and, no matter how long we went without seeing each other, we always picked up like it was yesterday. She lived with me when she did her student teaching in Owensboro, Ky. She had a great sense of humor and we laughed a lot!! In later years, Sue and I went up to visit the family. One time, when you and she were into dulcimers, we had quite a jam session with all of us sitting on the floor, playing and singing our hearts out. It is so hard to realize she is gone. May God wrap his arms around you and give you comfort. She will be missed.

Susan and I were friend's in High School and graduated together. There is so little we can say at a time of loss like this, but I want you to know that my heart goes out to you. Shelia (Ellis)Wade
