Thelma Lee Williams Cheatham, 87 of Louisville, Kentucky formerly of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was born June 26, 1928, in Seymour, Indiana, the daughter of the late Glenn and Dorothy (Bolton) Williams.
She married Charles Kenneth Cheatham, and he preceded her.
Thelma was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Louisville. She worked in Customer Service at Nu Yale Cleaners for many years. She was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, as well as being a member of the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries all of Seymour. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to music and going to concerts.
She is survived by her sons, Richard L. (Katherine) Hunt and James H. Whitson, Jr; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a brother, Glenn Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Donald and Charles Williams and a sister, Mary Williams.
Funeral service will be held at Voss Chapel, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana, on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Thursday after 12:00 pm until time of service.
A Celebration of life service will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church in Louisville, Kentucky at 1:00 pm Friday June 17, 2016.
