William Bill “Stoney” Firestone

William Bill “Stoney” Firestone, 72 of Brownstown, Indiana, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016, at St. Francis Health in Indianapolis.

He was born November 1, 1943, in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, the son of James and Kay (Lehman) Firestone.

He married Dixie Darlene Overten on July 5, 1976, and she preceded him in death March 1, 2013.

Bill was a retired truck driver from CTI in Edinburgh then went to work at Valeo Sylvania for several years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and loved to work on cars. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Cindy Blakemore, Sheri Zmich, Brian Firestone, April Clements, Charmaine Boyer and Wayne Lee Haskett; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ron and Frank Firestone, two sisters, Sandy Keating and Jane Mangum; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Tina Marie Mays, a son, Leslie James Haskett, a brother, Chester Firestone, a sister, Violet “Rusty” Wirsing and a sister-in-law, Patty Firestone.

A Memorial Service will be held at Voss Chapel on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 3:00 pm.

Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Wednesday after 1:00 pm until time of service.

Memorial checks may be written to Riley’s Hospital for Children.
